Three weeks into 2020—how are those New Year's resolutions coming along?
If you're on the verge of giving up already—don't. There's still plenty of time to tackle your biggest goals for the New Year. And if you quit now, then you never gave yourself a chance in the first place.
But if you're losing motivation, know that you're not alone. 80% of people fail to keep their New Year's goals. Most give up by January 12—not even two weeks.
Where do they go wrong?
It's not a lack of aspiration. It's a lack of a PLAN.
Planning is critical
We get it. Sticking to resolutions is HARD. But it's way easier when you have a plan of action.
It doesn't matter what your goals are. Losing weight. Getting fit. Starting your own business. Those are all great goals—but how will you get there?
Let's say you want to lose 20 pounds this year. You're going to start walking more, running, maybe even join the gym.
Excellent start, but that's still not a plan.
Focus on concrete steps
The problem with most New Year's plans is they aren't specific enough.
When will you exercise? After work? In the morning? How often will you do it?
Which steps are the highest priority? Will you need new shoes? If you're out of shape, how will you ease yourself into it? How many pounds will you need to lose to stay on track?
If you don't take the time to answer these questions, you're quickly going to feel lost and overwhelmed. That's how goals fall part.
Make a plan and GET IT
None of this means your goals have to be tiny.
MASSIVE ambition is critical to your success. You need to think big. That's the whole idea behind the a.fatti STREETLEISURE brand. Make your goals colossal and then give it everything you've got.
But ALWAYS have a plan. Without actionable steps, you're setting yourself up for failure.
